The second cheap and tasty wine list

Peter and I are fond of cheap and tasty wine. When we moved to Canada we asked the most knowledgeable wine person we knew, my Dad, for a list of wines we could afford - but that were nice enough to bring to dinner parties. And that was our first cheap and tasty wine list, and we've been drinking from it for over five years.

Last month I flew on Westjet, and the in-flight magazine had a page about value wine, and lo, a new cheap and tasty wine list!

Want to try a new bottle of wine without investing too much? Start with this list of the 15 winners at the Wine Access 2011 International Value Wine Awards. You will find new favourites that don't break the bank.

I consulted with my Dad, and he suggested we try them all. And take notes. There is a family anecdote about a few cases of wine that were drunk and described with the scanty statement: 'They were good.'

We should be able to do better than that! So Daddy, here you go.
